Angel Reese sets rebounding record in Unrivaled return and reacts to All-Unrivaled selections

The 2026 season of the Unrivaled league has witnessed the triumphant – albeit brief – return of one of the most high-profile figures in women’s basketball: Angel Reese.

After an initial absence that generated multiple questions, the Chicago Sky player rejoined the 3-on-3 competition in early February, once again wearing the colors of Rose BC. Her impact was immediate, not only on the team’s chemistry but also across the league’s stat sheets.

Despite joining the schedule late, Reese demonstrated why she is considered one of the most dominant forces in the paint. In just three regular-season games, the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year posted averages of 13 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block. Her ability to control the boards led her to set a historic mark: she became the fastest player to reach 200 rebounds in Unrivaled history, achieving the feat in just 17 games played across seasons.

“I mean DUH”: Reese backs the league’s best

Despite her impressive numbers, the “Bayou Barbie” was not considered for this year’s All-Unrivaled teams, a purely technical decision due to the number of games played.

Far from appearing upset or surprised, Reese displayed her trademark frankness on social media. When it was announced that stars such as Chelsea Gray, Paige Bueckers, and Kelsey Plum would make the first team, Reese simply commented three words that quickly went viral: “i mean DUH.”

For the Sky forward, the talent of her peers is unquestionable. The league highlighted that Plum led Phantom BC with 22.6 points, while Bueckers averaged 22.1 points with Breeze BC. Her teammate Gray was the second-leading scorer with 24.2 points. With her comment, Reese made it clear that, for her, these selections were obvious.

Family celebration: Her brother’s rise

Beyond the Unrivaled courts, Angel Reese’s attention has also been focused on the success of her inner circle. This weekend, as the 3×3 league playoffs took center stage, the player took time to celebrate the promotion and professional progress of her brother, Julian Reese, who signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards after spending time in the G-League.

For Angel, family success is just as important as her own records. Despite Rose BC’s recent elimination against Bueckers’ Breeze BC (69-50), where Reese contributed 10 points and 7 rebounds, the player remains focused on growing her family legacy, proving that her competitiveness on the court is only matched by the pride she feels for her loved ones.

When are the semifinals?

The semifinals will be played on March 2, 2026.

  • Semifinal 1: Vinyl vs Phantom – 19:30 ET – TNT/Tru TV
  • Semifinal 2: Breeze vs Mist – 20:45 ET – TNT/Tru TV
