The arrival of the Brazilian center-back would be on loan with an option to buy, a formula that allows Miami to evaluate the player’s performance without immediately committing its budget. The management continues to show an aggressive strategy, a clear sign that the goal is to stay at the top and fight for a new MLS Cup title
Who is Micael and why is he of interest to Inter Miami?
Micael, a 25-year-old left-footed defender, is no stranger to American soccer as between 2022 and 2024 he played in MLS with the Houston Dynamo, a club with which he played 80 official matches and was a key player in the conquest of the U.S. Open Cup 2023.Palmeiras paid around $4 million to sign him in 2024, betting on his growth. However, his time at the Brazilian club has been inconsistent. Although he was initially prominent in tournaments such as the Campeonato Paulista and the Brasileirao, he lost continuity from May onwards and finished the season with 28 appearances, including two in the 2025 Club World Cup.
This lack of minutes opens the door to a temporary exit that would benefit all parties, and this is where Inter Miami comes in.
Micael is a left-footed centre-back, but has shown the ability to play as a right-sided centre-back as well, and this versatility would give him extra points for Javier Mascherano, who would see him as an alternative as a first-choice replacement in the duo of Maxi Falcon and Noah Allen, at least initially, while he makes his way into the starting eleven.
