Spanish Super Cup 2026 Prize Money: How much money do Barcelona and Real Madrid earn?

The Spanish Super Cup is gearing up for a historic edition in 2026. After Barcelona’s victory in 2025, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decided to significantly increase the prizes, with the aim of giving greater relevance to the tournament and motivating the participating teams.

The global amount rises from the 19,648,486 euros distributed in 2025 between Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Club and Mallorca, to approximately 23 million euros, which this time will be distributed between Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club. The distribution is not linear: each club receives its share according to titles won, history and television audiences, so that the amounts vary according to the historical and recent achievements of each team.

The last edition generated some controversy: Real Madrid and Barcelona received 6 million euros each, Athletic Club 2 million and Mallorca 850,000 euros. In addition, the semi-finalists received 1 million and the champion received an additional 2 million. Athletic even called for a more equitable distribution among the participants.

In general terms, the Super Cup represents a total income of 51.9 million euros for the RFEF, coming from three main sources: Sponsorship: 27 million euros, organisation and participation: 11.5 million euros and television rights: 12.69 million euros.

In addition, approximately 28 million euros goes to non-professional football, reinforcing the economic impact of the tournament beyond the clubs that participate, and demonstrating how the Super Cup benefits the entire structure of Spanish football.
