Lionel Messi continues to shine in MLS and after scoring a brace in Inter Miami’s win over Orlando City, the Argentine striker set a new record, as he climbed the list of the top free-kick scorers in history, surpassing great legends of the past and even Cristiano Ronaldo.

Inter Miami did not have an easy game in the new MLS matchday. Javier Mascherano’s team began losing 2-0, but was able to turn it around thanks to the genius of Lionel Messi, who scored twice and one of the goals was a free kick.

With this new free-kick goal, Messi reached 70 goals from this route and entered the list of players with the most free-kick goals, in which there are several legends of the past and who for now, are not yet surpassed by the Argentine striker.

One of the legends Messi had already surpassed is Diego Armando Maradona, an Argentine player who reached the figure of 61 free-kick goals and who is joined by players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is also below the Inter Miami player.
