His life partner, wife, and mother of his three children, Antonela Roccuzzo, came into Leo’s life when he was 6 years old. After so many years together, Messi revealed how he continues to make her fall in love with him.

Without a doubt, Messi’s time at Barcelona, PSG, and Inter Miami, as well as his career at Argentine clubs and on the national team, has been the subject of much discussion. And throughout it all, his wife has been by his side.
Antonela is the cousin of Lucas Scaglia, one of Messi’s teammates on the Newell’s youth team, so their bond began when they were just children. When Leo began his soccer career, they drifted apart, although they kept in touch via email until 2010, when Leo introduced her as his official girlfriend, shortly before the World Cup in South Africa.
In November 2012, their first child together, Thiago, was born, followed by Mateo in September 2015. Anto and Leo then decided to get married on June 30, 2017, and almost a year later, in March 2028, the couple welcomed their third child, Ciro.
After so many years together, training sessions, routines, and their children’s school schedules, Lionel revealed how he has managed to strengthen and keep alive the love between him and his wife. In an intimate interview with the Argentine streaming channel LuzuTV, the Inter Miami captain revealed his secret.
“I’m not very demonstrative, but I have my romantic side,” he began, explaining that there are days when he goes several hours without seeing Antonela, so he makes sure to leave her little everyday gifts to let her know he’s thinking of her:
“I’m very thoughtful. I usually leave her a little gift, a little detail, a little thing,” he confessed with a nervous laugh, admitting that he finds it difficult to leave her handwritten notes.
However, the 38-year-old soccer star said that he finds it difficult to put some of his feelings or thoughts into words, so he prefers to show his affection with actions, and that, in that sense, Antonela is more expressive than he is.
“We talked, we had a discussion because she stopped being [expressive] because I didn’t like it very much, it was much colder. Until at one point I said to her, ‘you’re not like you used to be,’” he revealed, showing that these kinds of conversations are also part of the bond they build and work on every day.
Meanwhile, Messi‘s statements serve as a reminder that even as one of the most famous couples, their relationship is built and preserved through simple gestures, sincere dialogue, and constant adjustments.
