Dani Alves returns to football. At the end of last year, news broke that the former Barcelona player had bought a club in Portugal, and in recent hours it has become official

The Brazilian has posed with the shirt of his new team and the number 13 on his back. Years after the former Barcelona player was involved in legal problems that even led him to prison, although he was later acquitted by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), Alves returns to football but now it seems that it will be off the field

Although when the news broke on December 22, 2025, there was a possibility that Dani Alves would be part of the squad for six months, it seems that the Brazilian will be involved in the sporting decisions of the club and with a long-term growth vision

“This union symbolizes more than a structural change. It represents the meeting of the experience of those who conquered the world and the soul of a club that never stopped believing. Dani Alves brings a global vision, winning mentality and ambition. Sao Joao de Ver offers identity, community and a history built with effort and truth. Together, we turn what is already great into a bigger, sustainable and inspiring project,” said the official announcement from the Portuguese club.
