As American golfer Cameron Young competes in high-profile tournaments such as The Players Championship, a close support system often follows him quietly from the sidelines – including his wife, Kelsey Young, and their children.
Unlike many couples connected to professional sports, Cameron and Kelsey have chosen to keep a very low public profile. Neither of them has public social media accounts, which has led many fans to wonder who the woman behind one of the rising talents on the PGA Tour really is.
Who is Kelsey Dalition
Kelsey Dalition has known Cameron for years. Both grew up in Garrison, New York, although their romantic relationship began later when they were students in college.
Kelsey attended Wake Forest University, the same school where Cameron built his standout collegiate golf career. It was during that time that they began dating, though their families had known each other long before.
The golfer has previously explained that his connection with Kelsey’s family dates back to childhood:
“We’ve known her family since we lived in Garrison. I played hockey for her dad and with her brother,” Cameron said to Golfweek.
Interestingly, Kelsey’s family is not deeply connected to the golf world – something Young says actually helps him disconnect from the sport at home.
They got married in 2021
The couple tied the knot in March 2021, at a pivotal time in Young’s professional career as he continued establishing himself on tour.
According to his family, marriage brought an important balance to his life. His father, David Young, spoke about how the change affected him:
“When he’s on the golf course, he’s awfully focused. Getting married helped. There’s another part of his life now that’s not attached to how well he plays every day.”
He also noted that the new chapter had a positive impact on his personality.
“It’s been a joy to him and we’ve seen that in his personality. But on the golf course, he’s pretty well-focused and works really hard. It doesn’t look like he’s having much fun, but the results are fun.”
Mother of three
Kelsey and Cameron have built a growing family in recent years. The couple shares three children: Henry, John, and Vivienne.
For Cameron’s parents, fatherhood has shaped the way he approaches his career. His father summed it up this way:
Cameron is “a dad first and a golfer second and that’s made him focus doing his job efficiently so he can be the dad he wants to be.”
A family life kept out of the spotlight
Although Cameron Young’s profile continues to grow in professional golf – including appearances in events such as the Ryder Cup – his personal life remains largely private.
Kelsey occasionally appears at major tournaments to support him, but the couple has largely kept their family life away from the spotlight, even as Young continues establishing himself as one of the most consistent American golfers of his generation.
