Kai Trump has revealed that she experienced a frightening medical issue during her recent visit to The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, an episode she later opened up about in a personal vlog. The 18-year-old, who is the granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump and an aspiring golfer in her own right, attended the prestigious tournament earlier this month as a VIP guest.
Her trip placed her among some of the most influential figures in sport and entertainment, as she took in the atmosphere of one of golf’s most iconic championships.
While the experience was largely exciting, Kai explained that things took an unexpected turn while she was at Augusta. In a video posted to her YouTube channel, she said she had used hand soap on her face to remove makeup during the day at the course.
Shortly afterward, she noticed the development of small bumps on her neck, which quickly escalated into a concerning skin reaction.
“I had to get a shot, a steroid shot. The needle was like this big,” said Kai.
“Now, I don’t have a rash anymore but I had an allergic reaction to the hand soap on my face. I have very sensitive skin. It was so, so scary.”
She described the experience as “scary,” noting that she has particularly sensitive skin and did not expect such a strong reaction from something as simple as hand soap. Fortunately, the reaction subsided after the shot, allowing her to continue enjoying her time at the tournament without further issues.
VIP-filled visit continues despite unexpected health scare
Despite the medical scare, Kai‘s time at The Masters was far from derailed. She remained at Augusta National for several days, soaking in the atmosphere and interacting with a wide range of high-profile attendees.
Her trip included encounters with major sporting figures such as tennis star Rafael Nadal, NFL personalities Jason and Travis Kelce, ESPN host Pat McAfee, and college quarterback Fernando Mendoza. She also spent time around LIV Golf player Bryson DeChambeau, who has a connection to her family circle.
Beyond athletes, Kai was also seen engaging with entertainment and media figures, including Chad Mumm, known for his work on golf-related productions. The event itself brought together a mix of celebrities, executives, and sports professionals, giving her a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of golf’s biggest weeks.
Following the incident, Kai shifted her focus toward personal preparations for prom, sharing updates with her online audience. She confirmed that the allergic reaction had fully cleared after treatment and reflected on how quickly the situation developed.
