The defeat against the United States hit the Dominican Republic squad hard, especially because of the refereeing decision that spoiled the game at the end, but not all the players reacted in the same way to express their feelings about the defeat. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., unlike his teammate Juan Soto, was more cautious and serene.

While Soto demerited the American triumph by assuring that the Dominicans have the best team in the world, the Blue Jays player did not direct his thoughts to the result. He preferred to focus on the effort and the pleasure of representing the nation in such an important tournament.
