The three historic challenges Cristiano Ronaldo wants to achieve before retiring: Messi has already reached the first one

If anyone thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo is thinking about retirement at the age of 41, they couldn’t be more wrong. His hunger to win remains intact and he now has three ambitious challenges ahead of him with which he would enter the most exclusive football history

The first and most immediate is to win the World Cup, the most coveted title missing from his record and one that Lionel Messi does have. The truth is that it is difficult for him to achieve this with a Portugal team that has never won the title and is not usually a favorite. Its best participation in a World Cup is to reach a semifinal (1966 and 2006)

However, the Portuguese national team already sprang a surprise in 2016 when they won the European Championship, so Cristiano is not giving up on anything in the United States. And although he is not at the same level as he was years ago, he continues to make a difference in his team

After the World Cup, Cristiano will continue his countdown to the 1,000-goal mark. The Al Nassr striker already has 970 and seems determined to take over this impressive scoring record because he is the one who wants it the most.

Meanwhile, Messi, with 905 goals, does not seem so obsessed with reaching 1,000, considering that even a few weeks ago he ‘gave’ a penalty to Otamendi so that he could say goodbye to the national team in Argentina. This is a sign that he is not thinking the same as Cristiano. The Argentine’s advantage is that he is younger than the Portuguese, but for the moment neither of them is considering retiring from football

Cristiano, like LeBron James and Bronny

The latest challenge that has appeared in Cristiano’s path is the possibility of playing at the highest level with his son Cristiano Jr. A few days ago it was reported that Al-Nassr is considering promoting the star’s eldest son to the first team, so they could emulate LeBron James and Bronny with the Lakers.

In football, there are not many cases of fathers and sons who have ended up playing together in the same team, especially in the top flight. Cristiano Jr. will turn 16 in June and could fulfill his father’s dream and go down in football history together.
