Ashley Harkleroad, the tennis player who became famous around the world when she became the first professional player to pose nude for Playboy in 2008 while still active and ranked 72nd in the world, has confirmed that she is divorced after 16 years of marriage and is single.
The 40-year-old former tennis player, who in 2003 became the number 39 in the WTA ranking, explained to TMZ that “I got married at 19, I’ve spent most of my life listening to men, obeying them, my father, my coach, who was also my husband, and although he is an incredible father and a lifelong friend, it’s time for me to live my life my way.”

Ashley Harkleroad and Chuck Adams divorce over ‘irreconcilable differences’
In the divorce filing, Chuck Adams, who married Ashley Harkleroad in 2009, seeks joint custody of their two children, aged 17 and 15.
Adams, a tennis player and coach, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup and requested that the court be barred from awarding alimony to Harkleroad, who was previously married to Alex Bogomolov.
