It appears Brian McIntyre, widely known as “BoMac,” is not finished with Canelo Alvarez. The decorated trainer, who previously orchestrated one of boxing’s most stunning outcomes with Terence Crawford against Canelo, is now targeting another opportunity to topple the Mexican superstar.
Back in September 2025, McIntyre guided Crawford to a remarkable victory, as the undefeated champion climbed two weight divisions to challenge Canelo at 168 pounds.
The result was emphatic, with Crawford delivering a performance that secured the undisputed super middleweight crown.
With Crawford now stepping away from the sport, McIntyre has shifted his focus toward building another champion capable of challenging the division’s elite.
He is pinning his hopes on Lester Martinez, a Guatemalan standout who has begun to make serious waves at super middleweight.
After battling Christian M’billi to a draw, Martinez rebounded impressively, capturing the vacant WBC interim title in a Pro Box main event in California.
His most recent victory, a unanimous decision over Immanuwel Aleem, has only strengthened his case as a legitimate threat in the division.
For McIntyre, the path forward is clear and it includes the biggest names at 168 pounds.
“Beautiful. Damn beautiful. That’s beautiful, man. I love it. I love I would never trade nothing like this again,” McIntyre told Fight Hub TV.

“Have you heard me, M’billi–Canelo? Anybody else out there that’s 168 lbs. want this s**t Let’s get it.”

“He wants to be undisputed in the 168-pound division. Watch out for him. He’s another legend in the making. He definitely will be the undisputed champion.”
