Terence Crawford gets backing against Saul Alvarez: “I think Bud is going to run over Canelo”

The fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford has begun to divide opinion among experts, boxers and fans. Although the Mexican fighter will arrive as the favorite for the fight on September 13 in Las Vegas, more and more analysts believe that the American has the talent and experience to come out on top.

Crawford is no ordinary opponent. He has been an undisputed champion in three different divisions, a feat that few boxers can boast in the history of the sport. Although he will face a weight disadvantage, his technique, ring intelligence and adaptability make him a real threat to Canelo’s dominance.

The fight, which will be held in Sin City, has been billed as one of the most important of the year. It is a clash between two undisputed champions, something not often seen in modern boxing, and raises expectations both for its sporting relevance and for the legacy at stake.

Despite rumors that Canelo plans to recruit Jaron Ennis to his team, to have a sparring partner with similar conditions to what he will find in Crawford, this strategy does not change the prediction of the WBC lightweight champion, Shakur Stevenson, who maintains his confidence in a victory for Bud.

Shakur Stevenson sees a knockout possible

During an interview with The Ring, Shakur Stevenson reiterated that Crawford has arguments to exploit when he is in the ring with the Mexican boxer, and will impose conditions despite the weight difference.

“I think Bud is going to blow Canelo away,” Stevenson said bluntly in the interview with The Ring and added: “I think Canelo is a tremendous fighter, but Bud has all the tools to beat him.”

For Stevenson, the weight difference can influence certain fights, he considered that if it was someone the size of David Benavidez it could be a factor, but he believes that against Canelo it will not be crucial, because he is not so tall for his weight, even, he considered that it could be possible.

“I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but I think it’s a possibility if Canelo crosses the line, without understanding that Bud can also break,” Shakur said to conclude his prediction.
