Serena Williams offers surprising laxative advice from her Florida farm: “If you eat them, you poop”

Serena Williams has always been full of surprises, whether on the tennis court, at the Super Bowl halftime show, or on her Florida farm.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, who has embraced a plant-based lifestyle for over a decade, recently gave fans a glimpse into her latest natural remedy-one with some unexpected digestive benefits.

Williams, currently in Florida supporting her TGL golf team LAGC, took a break from the competition to visit her farm. Sharing a video with her followers, she proudly showcased her lush green garden while providing an impromptu lesson on the benefits of moringa seeds.

“Rare footage of me at my farm, where I am just picking the meringue, umm things off their trees, I don’t know what they are called,” Williams said in her Instagram reel. “I do a lot of cooking, I make lots of teas from leaves, I dehydrate things, and I am like a little bit of a, I don’t know, naturalist. But I don’t really talk about it a lot.”

Williams went on to explain how she uses moringa leaves and seeds in her daily routine. “I take these leaves off the tree, from the meringue tree, and then I dehydrate them and make teas out of them,” she shared before adding, “And also these seeds, if you like, wet them for a few days and then eat them, you poop a lot-so really good for your digestive system.”

A Commitment to Health and Natural Living

Williams‘ dedication to natural living stems from personal health challenges. After suffering from a pulmonary embolism and a hematoma in 2011, she transitioned to a plant-based diet, prioritizing her body’s well-being over indulgence. In a 2021 interview with Women’s Health, she emphasized her philosophy: “Eat to live. Don’t live to eat. I want to have a healthy lifestyle, so [I’m eating] a lot of greens and mostly plant-based lately-just super healthy stuff.”

Her passion for wellness extends beyond food. She has taken strong stands against animal cruelty, launching her own vegan leather fashion line, S by Serena, which debuted at the 2020 New York Fashion Show. Though the collection was discontinued in 2023, Williams remains committed to ethical fashion and sustainability.

From Super Bowl to Farm Life

While Williams has been sharing insights into her farm life, she also made headlines recently with a different kind of movement-her dance at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show. In one of the most talked-about moments of the night, Williams was seen crip-walking as Lamar performed Not Like Us, a diss track aimed at Drake.

The moment was especially significant, as it echoed her infamous celebration at the 2012 Olympics, where she crip-walked after winning gold.

The dance, which originated in her hometown of Compton, sparked conversations back then-and did so again at the Super Bowl. Williams later joked about her brief but iconic appearance, saying, “That was the best 10 seconds of my life.”

Whether she’s dancing at the biggest sporting event of the year, advocating for animal rights, or sharing unexpected dietary advice from her farm, Serena Williams continues to prove she is as unpredictable as she is legendary.
