Mijatovic points out the evil that Real Madrid’s dressing room must fix to avoid having “many problems”

Pedja Mijatovic, who already detected the real problem of Arbeloa’s Madrid and pointed out the mistake that condemned Xabi Alonso, analyzed on the program ‘El Larguero’ the defeat of Madrid in Albacete that cost the merengue team its elimination from the Copa del Rey.

“The truth is that it does sound strong what has happened these three days at Real Madrid,” he told Manu Carreño.

Mijatovic: “I would be calmer if the team had, for example, a Modric, a Kroos, a Sergio Ramos…”

The former Montenegrin footballer, who played for Real Madrid from 1996 to 1999 and was the club’s director of football from 2006 to 2009, points to the lack of a true leader in the dressing room to say what needs to be said in bad times.

This is a team that does not have a specific leader. A leader who says ‘look, this has to be like this’

“Do I see this squad capable of turning Real Madrid’s situation around? Yes, well… I would be more relaxed if the team had, for example, a Modric, a Kroos, a Sergio Ramos or a leader. An old guard that at a certain moment can take these young people and say ‘well, guys, calm down, what’s going on here?'” he told SER.

Mijatovic: “Now the only people who can lift this are the players”

Pedja Mijatovic, who confessed that he is “worried”, also pointed out that relaxation may have cost Real Madrid dearly on their visit to Albacete: “There are already these matches where, well, you lose an important match (the Super Cup) against your old rivals, there is a change of coach… and the players think ‘well, we play against a team inferior to us. We will give it with the left hand. It’s no big deal’. And something like that happens to you. And now? Well, yes, you’re worried.”

The former footballer did not hesitate to blame the players again: “I have said it. Maybe it’s not the coach’s problem, maybe it’s the players’ problem. Now the only people who can lift this situation is not a president, is not a coach, are the players. That can’t be fixed any other way. There’s no other way.”

“Any analysis you can make, because you have already played against a very inferior team, so you can have 30 bad minutes. You can have a situation where you have not reacted well, where you can lose concentration, but to be left out of a tie… That lack of attitude, tranquility, the comfort zone because we are already the best, we will fix it because there is time. But in football there is time and this happens to you,” he said.
