Los Angeles Dodgers fans could soon see the return of one of their idols and the franchise’s greatest darlings, Clayton Kershaw, who has been absent from the mound since August 30 after suffering a recurrence of his past shoulder, back and foot injuries. However, the wait is almost over to see the veteran pitcher at Dodger Stadium.

For this important moment, both for the player and the fans, a very detailed rehabilitation process is needed. At the end of last year, he underwent a couple of surgical procedures and during Spring Training he was seen working his arm for very brief periods. Now, the Los Angeles Dodgers called him up for a Minor League game.

Clayton Kershaw’s possible return date with Los Angeles Dodgers

At 37 years of age, the left-handed pitcher knows that it is not easy to return to the mound. However, his recovery has been carried out in a timely manner, so it has been estimated that Clayton Kershaw will pitch again at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, May 17 against the Anaheim Angels, a date on which his 60-day stint on the disabled list will end.

It should be remembered that he reappeared on the mound on July 25 after undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason. In his seven starts, he went 2-2, but it was on August 30 that he was unable to complete an inning and walked off to the locker room, where he eventually had to undergo another operation, from which he is about to recover.

Clayton Kershaw resumes appearances with Los Angeles Dodgers

Clayton Kershaw’s return to the Los Angeles Dodgers rotation began Wednesday afternoon in Oklahoma City when he faced the Tacoma Rainiers’ Triple-A team, where he pitched three scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits, no walks and struck out two.

In his 17-year career with the Dodgers, Kershaw has a 212-94 record with a 2.50 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. He is a three-time Cy Young Award winner (2011, 2013, 2014) and National League Most Valuable Player in 2014. His WAR numbers are among the highest at 76.5, including position players, and the best WHIP among starting pitchers in franchise history.
