The offseason for the Los Angeles Dodgers has been very active and has provoked the envy of many MLB fans for considering that they monopolize the best players available. Some executives have also declared the difficulty of competing against the way the California team manages its budget.

The Dodgers have filled the gaps they needed to cement themselves as favorites to retain the World Series title, with the arrival of pitchers Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell, as well as relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates.

In the lineup they incorporated Michael Conforto, but also went to the task of rescuing from free agency outfielder Teoscar Hernandez and closer Blake Treinen. However, they have yet to define the future of their ace Clayton Kershaw and utility player Kike Hernandez

Kike Hernandez is remembered at Dodgers FanFest

Kike Hernandez was one of the most valuable additions for the Dodgers in the final stretch of the 2024 season, an important return after his time with the Boston Red Sox, and his charisma and good play is etched in the minds of fans, who at this weekend’s FanFest asked for his return by chanting his name.

Regarding this, Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes acknowledged that the team is still considering signing Kike Hernandez

“Obviously, we’ve never closed the door on Kike. A lot of this is just making sure that he and his family feel that it’s the best position for him. We’ll have those conversations,” Gomes said.

The chemistry between the Puerto Rican outfielder and the Boys in Blue during his eight seasons in Los Angeles is undeniable, but they have yet to make him an offer, although it is known that the interest is mutual.

If they do not reach an agreement, the New York Yankees are likely to be his next destination, as he can play in different positions. In addition, they would take away from Gerrit Cole a batter who has shown that it is easy to hit his pitches.
