Jake Paul once again pushed the limits to put an end to a very heated debate in social media: who would win in a fight between 100 men and a gorilla?
The famous youtuber is getting ready to get back in the ring as he will face former world champion boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. June 28th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, in what will be Paul‘s biggest test to date as he charts his own path to world champion.
Chavez Jr, son of legendary Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez, had his last professional fight November 15, 2024, where he won a six-round cruiserweight vs. Darren Till on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Jake Paul posted a wild wideo on Instagram where he put an end to the 100 men vs. 1 gorilla debate.. sort of. On the images we see the youtuber drinking an energy drink as he gets ready to face the great ape. The gorilla, meanwhile, is minding his business and eating bananas.
Jake gets close to the great ape and tries to bust some boxing moves, but the gorilla was not having it as he grunts and starts chasing Paul. The boxer wanted no part of the animal and decides to run away last minute. Some of the boxer’s followers found the video funny, while others stated that it was AI.
One user in particular suggested Jake that he needs to go back with the gorilla when the great ape retires, in reference to the criticism Jake got for fighting a retired Mike Tyson, who happens to be 27 years younger than Paul. That was one of the main reasons why some boxing fans called the bout last year a joke and a phony move by Jake.
Are gorillas dangerous to humans?
Despite what some people might think, gorillas are gentle giants and display many human-like behaviors and emotions, such as laughter and sadness, according to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), adding that gorillas share 98.3% of their genetic code with humans, making them our closest cousins after chimpanzees and bonobos.
“The largest of the great apes, gorillas are stocky animals with broad chests and shoulders, large, human-like hands, and small eyes set into hairless faces. The two gorilla species-the eastern and western gorilla-live in equatorial Africa, separated by about 560 miles of Congo Basin forest,” states the WWF.
So don’t worry, generally, gorillas are very shy and reserved towards people, according to the Berggorilla & Regenwald Direkthilfe foundation. “They will attack only if they are surprised or threatened or if a person behaves in the wrong way. If the human makes an unexpected movement, the silverback male can react with horrific roaring and bluff charges.”
