The Las Vegas Raiders seem to be regrouping once again ahead of the 2026 season. As has already been widely reported and discussed, Fernando Mendoza is expected to arrive at the franchise in the upcoming draft as the No. 1 overall pick.
In light of this, speculation suggests that he will not be the only major change within the organization. While significant additions are anticipated to strengthen both sides of the ball, it is also understood that key players could be on their way out.
Maxx Crosby would be traded by the Raiders
For a long time, it was said that he would not leave, that he would remain with the franchise for many years. The player himself even expressed his desire to stay with the team and continue contributing his talent on defense.
However, everything now seems to indicate that the great mutual affection they once professed has reached its end. According to several reports, his farewell from the team could take place this week, and there are at least seven franchises already interested in acquiring him.
According to insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the interested teams are:
- Dallas Cowboys
- Chicago Bears
- Baltimore Ravens
- Buffalo Bills
- New England Patriots
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Los Angeles Rams
We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia, and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability,
According to Breer, the move could materialize in the very near future, as soon as this week. There is also another scenario being discussed: from within the organization, the possibility of sending him to the Baltimore Ravens is reportedly under consideration. In return, the Raiders would receive wide receiver Rashid Bateman, along with a first-round selection in the 2026 draft and another in 2027.
This development stems from the defender’s desire to join a team with a strong chance of competing for the Super Bowl. At 28 years old, he reportedly feels that the competitive window in Las Vegas is narrowing considerably.
Maxx Crosby’s numbers with the Raiders
Maxx Crosby joined the Raiders in 2019, when the franchise was initially based in Oakland after relocating from Los Angeles and more recently competing in Las Vegas. Since then, he has become a cornerstone player for the organization.
- Games played: 110
- Total sacks: 69.5
- Combined tackles: 439
- Tackles for loss: 133
- Quarterback hits: 164
- Forced fumbles: 11
- Interceptions: 1
Now his path appears set to continue away from the silver and black, as he looks to join a team that can offer him a legitimate opportunity to contend for a championship.
