Dani Alves could return to play football… in his own team. The former Barcelona player is close to completing a deal, along with a group of investors backing him, to buy a third division Portuguese team.

Specifically, negotiations are close to being finalized with Sao Joao de Ver, a team that occupies 10th position in Serie A of the Portuguese third division and in whose team the Brazilian could end his days as a player.

In fact, he is considering the possibility of playing six months in the team, years after hanging up his boots for judicial reasons that ended up leading him to prison just a couple of years ago. Alves made headlines again a few days ago when his new life as a preacher became known.

A facet that now marks his way of life and of which he constantly boasts: “You have to have faith, I am proof of it,” he has said several times in recent weeks.

After the acquittal last March by the Spanish courts, the Brazilian wants to say goodbye to football at another level, but to feel the boots and the grass again.
