Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to leave Saudi Arabia if his protest is ignored

The drama surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia continues to unfold, with new details emerging about his protest in which he chose to be absent from the matchday squad for Al-Nassr‘s game against Riyadh. The Portuguese star is clearly unhappy that reinforcements have arrived for Al-Hilal but not for his own team, and he appears to be making a definitive – and painful for the league – decision.

According to CBS Sports, the global football superstar has reportedly warned Saudi officials that he is prepared to leave the club – and even the country – due to the recent activity in the transfer market.

Reports had suggested that Saudi officials expected the protest to end because Cristiano Ronaldo had already shown up for training sessions, but that apparently hasn’t been the case.

How Cristiano Ronaldo feels about the situation

According to the same report, a source claims that Ronaldo feels “betrayed” and is seeking guarantees regarding the sporting direction of Al-Nassr if he is to remain with the team. It’s worth noting that his contract includes a release clause of approximately $58 million.

Several clubs would be interested in signing the player, but the reality is that very few can afford the Cristiano Ronaldo salary – and he still hasn’t won the Saudi Pro League title.

This would be headline news that would shock the entire football world, especially considering that the 2026 World Cup is very close and Cristiano Ronaldo cannot afford to go without competitive minutes.
