The Cincinnati Masters 2026 is offering another substantial financial incentive for the world’s leading tennis players, with the men’s ATP Masters 1000 tournament carrying a total prize pool of $9,415,725.
The winner of the men’s singles competition will take home $1,151,380, while the runner-up is guaranteed $612,340. That means the champion will earn almost twice as much as the player who finishes second, adding another significant reward to the 1,000 ATP ranking points available for lifting the trophy.
The Cincinnati Open is taking place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, from August 13-23.
It is the final ATP Masters 1000 tournament before the US Open, making it an important opportunity for players to build momentum, and bank substantial earnings, before the year’s final Grand Slam.
The 2026 tournament has also arrived with an expanded format and upgraded facilities following a major renovation of the venue. The event was named ATP Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year at the 2025 ATP Awards, highlighting its growing importance on the calendar.
How much does each round of the Cincinnati Masters pay?
The financial rewards begin well before the final.
A player reaching the second round of the 96-player men’s singles draw receives $36,110, while making the third round guarantees $61,865. From there, the payouts increase sharply as players move into the latter stages.

There is also a major difference between prize money and the broader financial rewards associated with a successful Masters 1000 campaign. Players collect ranking points, gain exposure and can potentially benefit from additional bonuses and sponsorship opportunities.
The ATP has been increasing player compensation across its premier events. The tour said that its Masters 1000 profit-sharing model distributed $18.3 million to 186 players in 2025, representing a 25% increase in base Masters 1000 prize money. For 2026, the ATP has also made $21.5 million available through its Masters 1000 and ATP Finals Bonus Pool.
Cincinnati prize money compared with last year
The 2026 men’s singles winner’s cheque is also larger than it was in 2025.
The Cincinnati Open‘s own 2026 compendium lists the men’s singles prize money at $9,415,725, compared with $9,193,540 in 2025. The champion’s prize has risen from $1,124,380 to $1,151,380, an increase of $27,000.
That increase comes at a particularly interesting moment for the tournament. Several of the sport’s biggest names are missing, including 2024 champion Jannik Sinner, who withdrew with a right knee problem, while Carlos Alcaraz is also absent as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury.
As a result, the Cincinnati title is more open than it might have been with the world’s top two players in the field. Alexander Zverev entered as the top seed, while Novak Djokovic was among the other major contenders.
For whoever ultimately wins in Ohio, however, the reward is clear: $1.15 million in prize money, 1,000 ranking points and a valuable confidence boost immediately before the US Open.
With the tournament approaching its conclusion on August 23, the remaining players are competing for far more than a trophy.
The Cincinnati Masters has become one of the most lucrative stops on the hard-court calendar, and this year’s champion will leave Ohio with one of the biggest paydays available outside the Grand Slams.
