The other day, rumors of a supposed romance with Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney swirled across social media, going so viral that Pulisic himself was forced to come out and completely deny the talks. Besides the false information, Pulisic’s anger also represents how his longtime wife, professional golfer Alexa Melton, could have felt hearing all of it.

Shutting down the Sydney Sweeney rumors
It all started on December 25 after an Italian gossip column, Gazzetta, echoed unverified claims from an Instagram page that assured that Pulisic and Sweeney were the newest couple representing the cultural bond of sports and film.
Pulisic broke his silence on Sunday night with a firm message on his Instagram Stories:
Please stop with the made-up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives
He also commented in another viral post that shared the false information. He wrote: “Fake news guys, let’s stop with the silly rumor.”Sweeney has not commented anything about this as there is speculation that suggests that she is currently linked to music executive Scooter Braun.
2026 World Cup on his mind
With less than six months left to the beginning of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Pulisic’s priority remains clear. He is the one in charge to bring the USMNT to the highest place possible inside and outside of the field. After publicly defending his relationship and his partner, he has become a national icon, as a man who values the truth and respects the woman by his side.
However, before wearing the national jersey, Pulisic must have great performances in Milan and avoid any kind of troubles that could ruin or endanger his WC dream.
