Who is the player who can hold his own against Mbappé and Lamine Yamal?: “I’d pay for a ticket just to see him play”

Over the years, soccer idols come and go, and with their goals, plays, and feats, they set the standard (and the level) for the players coming up behind them. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have stood out for over two decades and continue to do so as their careers wind down, but at the same time, new generations and stars seem to have taken their place.

Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal are two of them, but for a Málaga player, Pedri González is also in the mix, and he said he’d “pay to see him play.”

Pedri, on par with Mbappé and Yamal

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé continues to solidify his place at the club after his incredible feats at PSG and his titles with the France national team, such as the 2018 World Cup. Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, has broken several records at a very young age and has steadily gained ground in soccer, earning more playing time at the club to this day, as well as with the Spain national team, where he has already made significant appearances and confirmed his status as one of its leading figures. But one of his teammates is also making a name for himself and is making a name for himself.

Pedri, the star of the Spain National Team and Barcelona stands out as one of the midfielders with the most progressive passes and key passes in Europe’s top leagues and with his national team.

This season, he has 2 goals and 10 assists in 30 matches with the Blaugrana and is one of Barça’s undisputed leaders.

And for Dani Sánchez, Málaga’s star, the 23-year-old Spaniard stands out among his rivals and is worth paying for tickets to see him play live:

“I’m a huge soccer fan; I love soccer, and I’d tell you that the best player in the world right now is Lamine, because he’s the trend, or Mbappé,” he began in his latest interview on the ‘Supabros’ YouTube channel.

“But for me, a player I watch and for whom I’d pay for a ticket to see is Pedri. He’s a spectacular player,” said Sánchez.

This assessment comes at a time when Pedri remains a key figure for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, standing out as one of the key players on Luis de la Fuente’s roster for the friendlies leading up to the 2026 World Cup.

Spain is scheduled to face Serbia on Friday, March 27, at the Estadio de la Cerámica, and Egypt on Tuesday, March 31, at the RCDE Stadium, and these matches come with a special bonus: the return and reunion on the field of Lamine, Rodri, and Pedri, who have been absent from recent call-ups due to injury.

With five wins in six World Cup qualifying matches and a long unbeaten streak, even reaching 30 consecutive official matches without losing, Spain will arrive reinforced and determined to consolidate its status as a title contender.
