If scoring a goal isn’t an easy task, scoring a total of 900 isn’t for just anyone. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only two players to have reached this milestone, but just as many fans celebrated their hundreds of goals, others suffered from them.

Throughout their careers, both have punished numerous clubs in the world’s top leagues, but there are teams that stand out as their “favorite victims.” In fact, both have their top five rivals in Spain-the teams they’ve scored against the most. And how do they stack up at the national team level?

Teams that have conceded the most goals from Leo and CR7

In Lionel Messi’s case, with his goal in the 7th minute of the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 against Nashville SC, he reached 900 goals, even though Inter Miami was eliminated. Coincidentally, it is the first non-Spanish team against which Leo has scored the most times (16 goals in 12 matches).

However, during his time at Barcelona, Messi tormented five teams with his goals, but the one that suffered the most was Sevilla, with 38 goals in 43 official matches. With the same number of games but 32 goals, Atlético Madrid follows on the list. In third place is Valencia, against whom he scored 31 goals, and Athletic Club de Bilbao, against whom he scored 29. Barça’s eternal rival, Real Madrid, rounds out the Top 5 with 26 goals in 47 official matches. Meanwhile, Bolivia is the national team that has conceded the most goals to Leo, with a total of 11.

Cristiano Ronaldo has also made his mark during his nine seasons with Real Madrid, scoring 27 goals against Sevilla in 18 matches and 25 against Atlético Madrid in 37 encounters. CR7 also scored 23 goals against Getafe and 20 against Celta de Vigo. Like Messi, Barcelona ranks fifth on the Portuguese star’s list, having conceded 20 official goals in 34 matches. Additionally, while playing for Portugal, the Luxembourg national team has conceded 11 goals to Cristiano on 11 separate occasions.

Meanwhile, most of Messi’s goals came at Barcelona, where he scored 672 times. He then added another 32 with Paris Saint-Germain and has already tallied 81 with Inter Miami. Additionally, he scored 115 with the Argentina National Team.

For his part, CR7 has 965 goals to his name, having scored 451 with Real Madrid, 145 with Manchester United, 101 with Juventus, 5 with Sporting CP, and 121 with Al-Nassr. Additionally, he has scored 143 goals with the Portuguese national team. Despite this, his hamstring injury on February 28 has kept him off the field. Although it is not yet known when he will return, he is expected to resume training on April 3.

These numbers not only demonstrate the lethality of his goals-making him one of the most feared strikers in modern soccer-but also highlight his ability to perform against almost any opponent in any setting.
