Trouble for the Cowboys over cheerleaders’ “wild” party in Brazil after losing to the Ravens

The final seconds in Rio could hardly have been more painful for the Dallas Cowboys. Moments after Brandon Aubrey tied the game against the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas appeared to be heading toward overtime.

Instead, the Ravens produced a stunning final sequence, moved into field-goal range almost immediately and watched Tyler Loop kick the winning 56-yarder as time expired.

The 34-31 defeat left the Cowboys at 1-2 and sent the team home from Brazil with the kind of loss that can linger long after the flight lands. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer admitted as much afterward.

“At the end of the day, I just really just feel bad for [the players],” he said. “You know, we played hard, we fought back, after a long trip, and we had our chance to win. Unfortunately, we didn’t get it done.”

There was, however, another side to the Cowboys’ trip. While the football team was left processing a heartbreaking finish, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders made the most of the franchise’s visit to Rio and played a major role in the atmosphere surrounding the game.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders embrace Brazil spotlight

The squad performed its famous “Thunderstruck” routine in front of a packed Brazilian crowd, bringing one of the franchise’s most recognizable traditions to the international stage.

Their performance was one of the major entertainment moments of the night and gave local fans a glimpse of the full Cowboys game-day experience.

The cheerleaders also had the chance to be part of a high-profile halftime show featuring Ricky Martin, adding another memorable moment to a trip that had already generated considerable attention.

Throughout the visit, the group embraced the occasion and the energy surrounding the NFL’s growing presence in Brazil. The contrast between the celebration in the stands and the heartbreak on the field could hardly have been sharper.

Schottenheimer turns attention back to Dallas

The Cowboys still have plenty to address after letting a winnable game slip away in dramatic fashion. Schottenheimer made clear that responsibility would be shared across the organization.

“No one can say that they called or played a perfect game. No one,” he said. “And so, to me, at the end of the day, we all look at ourselves first. We pull our bootstraps up, we get our asses back to Frisco, and we go back to work.”

Dallas will now try to regroup after falling below .500, while Baltimore leaves Brazil at 2-1 after producing one of the most dramatic finishes of the season.

The Cowboys cheerleaders, though, will have a different set of memories from the trip.

Their time in Brazil featured packed stands, a marquee halftime performance and the chance to showcase one of the NFL’s most recognizable traditions on an international stage.

The result may have ruined the night for the Cowboys, but it did not stop their cheerleaders from making the most of Rio.
