However, in their last match it was not the result or the performance on the field that caught the attention, but rather a curious celebration that included coach Emma Hayes.
The United States thrashed Chile by five goals to nil in a match played at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California. The match was perfect for the home side, but the spotlight was on Trinity Rodman, who scored a goal and performed a curious celebration.

Rodman scored again and when it came time to celebrate, she decided to fulfill a promise she had made to Hayes before the game.
Rodman went to find Hayes to celebrate with a viral dance called “sexy dexy“. The scene went viral on social media and generated a lot of laughter on the bench, as the coach was a little uncomfortable, but with a lot of attitude.
“I thought: ‘You know what? The game is quiet. Trin is not going to score tonight. The area is full of players’, and the moment she cut inside… if you had seen me, if you had focused on me just before that, I had my head in my hands. I was dying. I was dying,” the coach commented with a laugh.
USWNT continues to make steady progress
Beyond the laughter, dancing and celebrations, the great level of the United States women’s national team cannot be overlooked. With this thrashing of Chile, the team has six wins in a row and remains second in the FIFA rankings.
Emma Hayes has valued a young team, where even some players scored their first goals against Chile. In addition, the atmosphere is getting better and better, as there is never a lack of laughter in the dressing room.
“These players keep me young. I’m not complaining,” Hayes said of the atmosphere and the dancing.
