Trevon Diggs’ ex Yasmine Lopez faces accusations from former Lakers star

The ongoing conflict between former NBA star Christian Wood and Yasmine Lopez has escalated dramatically, evolving from relationship drama into a legal battle marked by serious allegations and shocking court filings.

What began as a high-profile celebrity relationship has now turned into a bitter custody dispute that has attracted national attention.

Wood, who has played in the NBA for multiple teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, and Lopez, an influencer and reality TV personality, share a 2-year-old son named Kobe Sean Wood.

Their relationship, which started in 2022 and ended later that year, has been chaotic by multiple accounts. In recent months, legal filings have dramatically increased public focus on the dynamics between the former couple.

According to filings obtained by media outlets, Wood has accused Lopez of orchestrating a deadly plot against him. The controversy stems from an incident that occurred in November 2025, when Wood reported hearing noises in his Los Angeles home and encountered three masked men attempting to break in.

Fearing for his safety, Wood retrieved a firearm and fired a shot into the floor, causing the intruders to flee without stealing anything. Wood noted that there were no similar break-ins reported in the area at that time.

“I genuinely believed I was going to die,” Wood wrote in court documents.

Wood‘s legal team argues that the break-in was not a random criminal act but a targeted effort, claiming it was timed and executed by individuals with knowledge of his schedule. He pointed to a social media post Lopez made about an hour before the incident that featured a violent song and a gun emoji.

“The lyrics of the song explicitly describe a murder for hire and retaliation killing,” Wood wrote, calling the timing “deeply disturbing.”

In the same set of filings, Wood described repeated hostile text messages from Lopez, including messages where she expressed a desire for him to die.

“She goes on to say that she hopes I die and she will tell our son that I am dead.”

Following these allegations, a Los Angeles court granted Wood temporary sole custody of their son and issued a temporary restraining order requiring Lopez to stay at least 100 yards away from both father and child.

Escalation of legal and personal conflict

The legal clash, however, is far from one-sided. Lopez has forcefully denied involvement in the alleged break-in and hit plot. In separate court filings, she maintains that she learned of the incident only after it happened and rejects any claim of organizing or encouraging the break-in.

“When I learned, from others, not [Wood], that a gun had been fired inside his home, my heart dropped,” Lopez wrote, describing her fear for her son’s safety.

Lopez has also filed her own restraining order against Wood, alleging he was physically abusive on multiple occasions. She claims that on several past occasions, Wood kicked, slapped, or choked her during disputes.

“They were aggressive and frightening interactions that made me fear for my safety,” Lopez wrote in her filing.

The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for mid-January, where both sides will have the opportunity to expand on these allegations and defenses, and judges will weigh the evidence presented by each.
