Tom Brady labeled a coward by WWE stars

For Tom Brady, being on the defensive has rarely been part of his career narrative. But heading into WrestleMania week, the NFL legend has found himself in an unfamiliar position, as an unexpected target inside the WWE locker room.

What began as a lighthearted remark months ago has evolved into a growing storyline, with several WWE Superstars openly challenging Brady after he dismissed professional wrestling as “cute.” Now, with WrestleMania set for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the stage appears set for a potential crossover moment.

When asked to describe Brady in one word if he fails to appear, the responses from WWE talent were blunt and, at times, cutting.

“Coward,” said Women’s Tag Team Champion Lash Legend.

“Chicken,” added Alba Fyre.

Others leaned into humor while still delivering pointed jabs. Nia Jax responded with “Botox,” while Trick Williams referenced Brady’s past controversy with “Deflategate.” Raquel Rodriguez went a step further, saying, “He is scared. He better show his face.”

The comments highlight how quickly Brady’s remarks have been embraced within WWE‘s storytelling world, blurring the line between genuine reaction and promotional build.

The tension can be traced back to Super Bowl week, when Brady appeared on Logan Paul‘s Impaulsive podcast. While discussing the physical demands of football, the former quarterback contrasted it with professional wrestling in a way that drew immediate attention.

“It’s cute. I love WWE,” Brady said. “It’s very cute, but honestly, this is like real football, this is real competition.”

He later doubled down during Fanatics Football Week, describing wrestling as “cute, scripted and fake,” comments that did not sit well with many in the industry.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes admitted the remarks struck a nerve, even as he expressed admiration for Brady’s career.

“Such a fan of Tom… it’s very hard for me to hear Tom go against wrestling,” Rhodes said on ESPN Radio. “I believe he called it ‘cute’… It hurt.”

Since then, several stars, including Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins, have publicly encouraged Brady to attend WrestleMania, turning the situation into one of the week’s most talked about side stories.

A WrestleMania appearance still in play?

With WrestleMania taking place at Allegiant Stadium, a venue tied to Brady through his minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, speculation about a potential appearance has only intensified.

His ongoing back-and-forth with Logan Paul adds another layer. Paul is scheduled to compete in a high-profile six-man tag match, and their recent exchanges, including a heated moment during a flag football event, have kept the possibility of involvement alive.

WWE has a long history of integrating NFL figures into its biggest show. Rob Gronkowski, one of Brady’s former teammates, made multiple appearances, while Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson were involved in WrestleMania 40.

A collision of worlds feels inevitable

Whether Brady‘s comments were off-the-cuff or part of a broader promotional build, they have successfully drawn attention across both sports and entertainment.

For WWE, the reaction has created a compelling narrative. For Brady, it presents a different kind of spotlight, one where the expectation is not just to talk, but to show up.

If he does, it could become one of the defining crossover moments of WrestleMania weekend. If he doesn’t, the WWE locker room has already made it clear how that will be received.
