Stephen Curry Draymond Green and Steve Kerr face uncertain future after 14 years defining a Warriors dynasty

During 14 seasons, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr built something that goes beyond basketball with the Golden State Warriors. They won, they dominated, and they helped redefine the game. But after the recent Play-In loss to the Phoenix Suns, for the first time in a long while, what’s left isn’t certainty it’s questions. And in that moment, Kerr felt it and said it without overthinking.

“I don’t know what’s gonna happen next, but I love you guys.”

In the huddle, Kerr looked at Curry and Green and told them exactly how he felt. Like them, he doesn’t know what comes next, but he made sure they knew one thing he loves them. It may be the end of an era, 14 years of fighting together for the same franchise in the NBA.

Since Kerr’s arrival in 2014, this group changed the course of the league. Four championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), six Finals appearances, a historic 73-9 season in 2016, and a style of play built around the three point shot from anywhere, at any moment. Curry became the greatest shooter ever, Green the emotional and defensive heartbeat, and Kerr the architect who knew how to bring it all together into something that defined an era.

They’ve spent more time together than with their own families. They’ve grown, won, lost, and evolved not just as players, but as people. That’s why this moment feels different. After so many years side by side, uncertainty is finally part of the story.

The 111-96 loss to Phoenix didn’t just end their playoff hopes, it forced them to face something unavoidable: time. Curry is no longer the young star who changed the game overnight, Green has been through every physical and emotional battle, and Kerr has carried this project for over a decade.

And now, for the first time, there’s no clear answer about what comes next. Will they stay together? Will changes come? Was this the final chapter of the dynasty as we know it?

Whatever happens, what they built together will outlast any team they join, lead, or face in the future. If this is the end, it won’t erase anything, it will only make their time in Golden State even more unforgettable.
