On June 28, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will return to the ring to face Jake Paul in what promises to be one of the most high-profile fights in recent times. After more than a year out of the ring due to personal problems, the son of the Mexican boxing legend has a crucial opportunity to resume his professional career.

This fight has generated a wave of comments among fans and experts, due not only to Chavez Jr.’s history, but also to the controversial Jake Paul, who continues to seek validation in the boxing world.

Julio Cesar Chavez, who has always been a role model for his son, has not hesitated to get involved in this fight, giving his opinion on the fight and setting a very specific condition for his son.

In a recent interview, the Mexican champion revealed that he asked Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to go straight to the point: “He has to go out and knock him out from the first round,” he said, making it clear that he accepts no excuses for a half-hearted performance.

A direct tip: Chavez Jr.’s last chance

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s future in boxing seems to be on the edge of a precipice, according to his father’s words. For the former world champion, this fight against Jake Paul is not only a golden opportunity, but also one of the last he will give his son. “He has been given many opportunities and this is the penultimate one, because the last one is when you are already leaving,” said the renowned boxer. The focus in this return is clear: Chavez Jr. must give it his all in the ring and look for the knockout from the first round.

Julio Cesar Chavez’s advice to his son is firm, knowing that the 39-year-old boxer cannot afford another setback. “It’s a tough fight, all fights are tough, but the condition is that he goes out to win by knockout from the first round,” he added. For the Mexican champion, the fight will be decisive, because not only is his son’s name at stake, but that of the entire Chavez family.

Criticism of Jake Paul and expectations of a big fight

Although the clash with Jake Paul has sparked controversy, Julio Cesar Chavez does not hide his opinion of the famous YouTuber. In previous interviews, the boxing champion has been very critical of the American, describing his foray into boxing as an attempt to take advantage of his fame on social networks. “Jake Paul is useless, I don’t know why people pay to see that asshole, I don’t like him at all,” Chavez had expressed, who even joked about the idea that his son would defeat him: “Let him fight with my son Junior so he can beat him up to see if it’s true.”

Despite the criticism, Jake Paul has achieved a respectable professional record of 11 wins and one loss, which has catapulted him to be an interesting opponent for many, although not for boxing purists.

The fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Jake Paul is scheduled for June 28 in Anaheim, California, and will mark the Mexican’s return to the ring after a long period of absence. In the cruiserweight category, both fighters will face each other in a match that will undoubtedly attract the attention of millions of fans.
