The “unforgettable” moment Cristiano Ronaldo gave an Al-Najma player

Al-Nassr’s recent 5-2 victory over Al-Najma in the Saudi Pro League on Friday was special not only because of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to action after a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, but also because of a heartwarming gesture from the Portuguese star.

During the match, Brazilian forward Felippe Cardoso approached Cristiano Ronaldo to ask for his jersey -a common occurrence in a player’s life, and even more so for CR7- but what happened next made all the difference.

In the middle of the match, Cardoso decided to fulfill one of his biggest dreams and approached the Al-Nassr captain to ask for his jersey at the end of the game. However, the warmth Ronaldo showed caught even Felippe’s attention.

Cristiano didn’t just accept the request; he stopped to read the name and number on Cardoso’s back and made sure to remember the details so he wouldn’t make a mistake when exchanging the jersey later.

At the end of the match, the 41-year-old Portuguese star kept his promise and handed his jersey to the Brazilian forward, who scored a goal and provided the assist for Al Najma’s second goal. This gesture moved Cardoso, and he shared a photo of the jersey on his official Instagram account:

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good result for our team, but this day will remain etched in my memory,” he wrote in his stories, referring to the result against Al Nassr.

In addition, Felippe shared a post with several photos from the match showing him talking with CR7 and shaking hands with him afterward.

Ronaldo, for his part, scored two goals in Al Nassr’s victory, moving even closer to the 1,000-goal milestone, now just 33 goals away with 967 to his name.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, April 11, Al Nassr will face Al-Okhdood at Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Matchday 28 of the Saudi Professional League.
