There is growing concern in Los Angeles about two of its players who remain stranded in Venezuela after the suspension of the winter league and logistical complications, which has made the offseason an urgent issue for the Dodgers.

The political situation in Venezuela directly impacts the Dodgers

The situation in Venezuela stopped being just an international political issue and became a direct problem for several Major League Baseball teams, including the Dodgers. After military actions by the United States caused disruptions in the South American country, the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional suspended activities, affecting foreign and local players.

In the case of Los Angeles, Edgardo Henriquez and prospect Eduardo Quintero are currently in Venezuela with no clear departure date. The franchise confirmed that it is already actively working to help them return to the United States as soon as possible.

Dodgers prioritize safety over baseball

General manager Brandon Gomes was clear when talking about the team’s focus at the moment. For the organization, the absolute priority is the well-being of its players and their families.

We’ve been in touch with our boys and we’re trying to help as much as we can. I don’t care about the sporting side right now, I want to make sure they’re OK

system. Although his immediate impact is not as urgent as that of Henriquez, the organization also seeks to ensure his safe return so that he can continue with his development without setbacks.
