The strange domino effect that would leave Bo Bichette with the Dodgers

With or without him, the Toronto Blue Jays will aim to return to the World Series. The team that just lost the title to the Los Angeles Dodgers has had an excellent offseason with reinforcements that will take them to another level in 2026, though they still have one issue to resolve with one of their star players who is currently a free agent.

The Toronto team has been very aggressive this winter to improve their roster, and they have indeed increased their chances of returning to the World Series in 2026. However, what they decide to do with Bo Bichette could determine whether or not they are favorites next year.

This is where their path crosses with the Dodgers, one of the teams that has earned both love and hate from fans.

Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report recently predicted that Blue Jays star Bo Bichette will sign a $120 million contract with Los Angeles, though it will include opt-out options after the first two years.

Something similar to what happened with Alex Bregman

The market has not moved in Bichette’s favor, and this would be a good option for him to secure a multi-year deal.

The scenario is similar to Bregman’s, who signed with the Boston Red Sox when he didn’t receive the offers he was expecting. After spending some time in the AL East, he has now regained his value.

For Bichette, it’s somewhat surprising at his age to have to consider this kind of strategy, but the market may still not be ready for him. For the Dodgers, adding him would mean bringing in another star to bolster their goal of winning three consecutive championships.

Meanwhile, Toronto’s moves so far suggest they might be considering parting ways with Bichette and shifting their focus to Kyle Tucker as an alternative for a major signing this winter. Without a doubt, the young slugger would provide an immediate impact to the Dodgers and could eventually face his former team in the 2026 World Series in a highly anticipated matchup.
