Once Super Bowl LX concluded with the Seattle Seahawks crowned as champions, they were immediately ranked again as the heavy favorites to repeat in the next title game.

Despite allowing running back Kenneth Walker III to leave in free agency after he was named the MVP of Super Bowl LX, the Emerald City franchise continues to secure its key players with contracts that ensure their long-term presence on the roster.

The new contract signed by Jaxon Smith-Njigba

This Monday, March 23, 2026, it was revealed that the Seahawks reached an agreement with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. According to multiple reports, the deal is set at four years and $168.6 million, making him the highest-paid player at his position.

The receiver joined the franchise in 2025 and immediately showcased his talent on the field. He stepped in for DK Metcalf as the team’s WR1 after Metcalf departed for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His numbers were as follows:

  • 1,793 yards
  • 119 receptions
  • 10 touchdowns

It was expected that he would be rewarded for his outstanding performances. He was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-Pro honors, capping off a remarkable season.

As a ripple effect, this deal could influence negotiations for other players who also delivered strong performances in 2025. One notable case is Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens.

Additionally, other receivers who could push for significant raises in their upcoming contracts include Puka Nacua and Drake London.

The terms of Smith-Njigba’s contract

For the Seahawks receiver, this new deal represents a major milestone at just 24 years old, granting him financial security that he will need to justify with consistent performances game after game in the coming seasons.

  • Term: 4 years
  • Total value: $168.6 million
  • Average annual value (AAV): $42.15 million
  • Guaranteed money: $120 million

Before this contract, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase held the distinction of being the highest-paid at the position. Now, Smith-Njigba is widely regarded as the new benchmark in the league.
