Being the granddaughter of the President of the United States is complicated. There is always a spotlight, and privacy becomes extremely difficult to maintain. That is why, for Kai Trump, being part of the first family leaves little room to go on a date or explore romance.
In addition, she must deal with Secret Service agents who remain nearby around the clock for her protection. If that is not enough, her high school graduation in May 2026 is approaching, adding another layer of pressure and complexity to an already unusual lifestyle.
Faced with this unique situation, the young woman has offered insight into how she navigates it, revealing that moments for any kind of romantic connection are limited and often shaped by circumstances beyond her control.
Kai Trump talks about what life is like as the president’s granddaughter
In a recent question and answer session on her YouTube channel, she shared details about her personal life and how she manages it on a daily basis.
So, I am kind of talking to a guy like right now. We might go to prom together. So, yeah, I’m like, no. Yes? No??? Kind of, you know? Figuring it out.
She also made clear what happens when she goes out with someone. In January, during Logan Paul’s podcast, she explained that whenever that occurs, Secret Service agents are always nearby.
This means they typically sit just a couple of tables away. Despite the situation, she is learning to live with it and is doing everything possible to ensure it does not bother her or interfere with her experiences.
Rumors about Kai Trump’s romantic relationships
There has been significant speculation about a possible relationship with golf influencer Garrett Clark, largely because she filmed a video with him a couple of years ago. For fans, that sparked rumors that something more existed between them, although she never confirmed anything of that nature.
In another video with her best friend Emma, she asked followers what they would do if a boy invited them to Chick-fil-A for a first date. Emma offered details, but it was never made clear whether the hypothetical invitation referred to her or to Kai.
This coming May, Kai will graduate from high school before heading to the University of Miami.
In that new chapter, life will be different, and it may open the door for her to explore dating more freely despite the unique circumstances that have defined her teenage years.
Even so, the constant presence of security and public attention remains a factor she cannot escape, shaping how she approaches relationships and social life as she balances personal desires with the realities of being part of a presidential family now today.
