The Dodgers could still sign another star that their fans are asking for

The two-time MLB champions are continuing to strengthen for the upcoming 2026 season and the search for an experienced and impactful outfielder continues in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are considering many options among their prospects, either through a trade or the signing of a free agent. Among the names that are causing the most interest within the two-time Major League Baseball champions is the name of a former player who has become one of the best in recent years.

Dodgers join the fight for Cody Bellinger from the New York Yankees

Cody Bellinger is one of the most sought-after free agents because he is one of the most complete players in MLB. His discipline, mentality and defense in center field and first base make him a player who stands out among outfielders. Bellinger is joined by Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Bo Bichette and Munetaka Murakami as the big names who could break the winter market before the 2026 season begins.

Publicly, the Brooklyn Atlantics want former outfielder Cody Bellinger to return to the team for the upcoming season, but other teams such as the Mets, Giants, Reds and Blue Jays also want the outfielder. While the rumors continue, the West Coast native has not defined his destination for next season and anything is possible.

The Dodgers, if they decide to go for Bellinger, would have in mind a contract of only three years, as a longer deal could be a major impediment for the outfielder to agree to return to the team.

Low-profile Dodgers players who could be the surprise package for the 2025 season

Roki Sasaki: The 24-year-old Japanese pitcher helped the Los Angeles Angels a lot to win it all in 2025, but his injuries and his lack of control by conceding two or more walks in each of his eight starts in 2025 have raised doubts about whether he could be an ideal alternative within the team.

Tanner Scott: With a four-year, $72 million contract, much was expected of the left-hander with the Los Angeles team. Last season he posted his worst ERA since 2021 and an injury, combined with surgery, kept him out of the postseason. The Dodgers hope the lefty can bounce back and return to superstar status.

Dalton rushing: The club’s top prospect still has no secure position due to the excellent season Will Smith had. However, the Dodgers want to count on the player for this 2026 season and he is expected to be key for next year.
