In Barcelona it seems that they are not yet giving up on a possible return of Lionel Messi. Despite his controversial departure, the Argentine is still loved by the fans and also by the players, as recently a youth player who is a figure of the team commented that he would like to have the number 10 back at the club.

While it seems impossible for Messi to return to Barcelona, there are still people who are excited about the possibility and one of them is Fermin Lopez, a youth player at the club who is shining with the first team and who did not get to share a dressing room with Leo.

Fermin Lopez wants to play with Leo Messi

Lionel Messi not only marked an entire generation of fans, but also of footballers. Fermin Lopez is 22 years old and grew up watching the Argentine score impossible goals with Barcelona and win a lot of titles.

Such is Fermin’s admiration for Messi that in an interview with Goal, he said that he would even give up his place for Leo to return to the club.

If it were up to me to sign someone for Barca, I would sign Leo Messi. If they sit me on the bench for Messi, so be it

Fermín López

The young Barcelona star made it very clear that he would love to be able to play with Messi and if that means he has to go to the bench, that’s no problem. Fermin could give up his place in order to see Leo back in the Barca shirt, something that all the fans would pay to see once again.

Fermin Lopez is in the form of his life

In addition to talking about a possible return of Messi, Fermin also analyzed his present at the club, where he said that he is living his best season personally.

“Right now, I think this is my best year to date. I feel very confident in all aspects of the game and I try to show my qualities on the pitch. Hopefully, I will be able to continue to do well with shots from outside the box,” explained the 22-year-old.

On the other hand, Fermin also commented on what his expectations are. “I hope to help the team a lot. It’s not a goal that I have set myself, but in the position I play, I know I have to score goals and provide assists to help the team, and I hope I can do much more.”
