Angel Reese hears it all from Atlanta Dream teammates as past rivalries resurface in first press conference

The arrival of Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream didn’t go unnoticed. In her first press conference, what was supposed to be a welcome turned into a session of confessions that mixed rivalry, humor, and a lot of honesty. At times, the former Chicago Sky forward’s reaction said more than words ever could.

Rhyne Howard was one of the first to speak, and she didn’t hold back: every time she faced Reese, she usually had big offensive nights. A statement that caught attention and left some wondering exactly what she meant. But the most direct moment came from Naz Hillmon, who summed it up in seconds: “Angel is annoying as hell.” A very particular way to welcome someone in front of the cameras and a clear way to describe how tough she was to play against.

The ATL Barbie era begins

Reese now leaves Chicago behind to share a locker room with the same players who once tried to stop her in the paint. Now, they know they have her on their side as they look to compete and push for more. Because if anything is clear from those comments, it’s that Reese was always a problem for her opponents and now that “problem” belongs to Atlanta.

Even if the tone was relaxed and a bit ironic, it says much more underneath. In the WNBA, where every possession matters, being “annoying” isn’t a flaw, it’s a strength. It’s about intensity, presence, and constant competitiveness… even if you hear it out loud in your very first press conference.
