Shedeur Sanders proves he’s a man of the people and fans absolutely love it

Shedeur Sanders continues to bond with the Cleveland Browns fans as the young quarterback, once decried as self-centred and arrogant, devotes time to supporters hours after beating the Las Vegas Raiders.

Footage posted online by his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., showed the NFL rookie hanging out with a group of passionate football fans following the victory.

Sanders was spotted signing fan merchandise, as well as chatting with supporters and posing for photos. It reflected just how quickly the situation has changed for the youngster.

Sanders had been projected as a first rounder in the 2025 NFL Draft and even, at one stage, the first overall pick.

But he dramatically fell to the fifth round and 144th overall, despite producing 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024 with the Colorado Buffaloes.

Fans and critics were left shocked as all 30 NFL teams passed over him multiple times. The Browns moved past him six times and even selected Dillon Gabriel from the Oregon Ducks first, whilst the Raiders ignored him seven times.

Reports suggested attitude concerns for Coach Prime‘s son with many NFL scouts and coaching teams believing he was “brash” and “arrogant”.

Todd McShay cited unprofessionalism and a notion he didn’t care what teams thought of his interviews.

Yet it appears that could not be further from the truth on, as he gave back to the fans who supported him on a day he could have been arrogant, after passing for 209 yards, a touchdown and securing the Browns third win of the year.

How did Shedeur Sanders beat the Las Vegas Raiders?

Sanders’ performance in his NFL starting debut dominated Sunday’s headlines as he led his team to a 24-10 victory and in the process, snapped a 17-game losing streak for rookie starters with the Browns.

Stepping in to replace Gabriel, who is out through concussion protocol, he appeared to be an almost seamless fit on November 22 as he got straight up to speed with the challenge of the NFL – despite only a few days with the starting offense.

Quinshon Judkins scored two first-quarter touchdowns on wildcat snaps from the QB whilst Shedeur made a 52-yard pass to Isaiah Bond, who was brought down just before the red zone. He almost made a play to Dylan Sampson for a TD.

His performance energized the team and ended a five-game losing streak to the Raiders, whose last victory over Cleveland came on October 26, 2014.

Back then, Las Vegas was busy playing their football some 557 miles away in Oakland, in California.

Now attention looks forwards to a clash with the San Francisco 49ers and his first big test in the NFL as he takes on the NFC West’s 7-4 team, although it could be a favorable day with Kyle Shanahan‘s defense ranked 28th in defending the passing game.
