Shedeur Sanders biggest advantage against the San Francisco 49ers

Shedeur Sanders will face one of the toughest opponents to come from the NFC when the Cleveland Browns host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday at Huntington Bank Field.

The rookie quarterback will make his home debut after beating the Las Vegas Raiders on the road, and he will love to make a big impression in front of his fans.

The Browns are 3-8 and zero chances of making the playoffs this year, but the remainder of the 2025 regular season can help Shedeur and Cleveland to start setting the foundation for a consistent way of winning football games, which is great news for a fandom that’s used to mediocrity and awfulness.

Shedeur’s biggest advantage against the 49ers

There’s one key advantage Shedeur Sanders will have against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday: his ability to throw a deep ball and connect with his receivers for large gains throughout the game. Why is that an advantage for the rookie quarterback?

Because the NFC West team gives up an average of 241.8 passing yards per game, which is the seventh-most in the NFL, as well as 6.6 net yards per pass attempt. By the way, San Francisco has allowed 22 passing touchdowns this season.

One of Shedeur‘s biggest assets is the way he can find rhythm by passing the ball down the field, and if he can consistently throw it to tight end David Njoku, as well as wide receivers Isaiah Bond, Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman and Gage Larvadain.

The Browns will have to contain Kittle and McCaffrey

The Cleveland Browns defense will have to contain running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle if they want to have a chance to win the game against the San Francisco 49ers at home. It will definitely not be an easy task.

McCaffrey leads the 49ers in both rushing and receiving yards this season, with 96 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 217 carries. He’s also recorded 785 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 81 receptions, which makes him one of the key pieces of San Francisco‘s offense.

And then there’s George Kittle, a player associated with toughness, according to Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. “We talk about the respect that players have for each other, coaches can have respect for players. I love the way that guy plays, plays with great effort in the run game as well as the passing game,” Schwartz said.
