Tom Brady shows off his bare chest while revealing his side as a cat dad

Tom Brady is showing a much softer side of himself these days, revealing his life as a cat dad while also sharing a rare shirtless moment on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his personal world. The seven-time Super Bowl champion posted a photo Wednesday afternoon, lying on the couch shirtless with one of his cats resting on his chest, capturing the intimate moment in a snapshot.

Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Brady has admitted that he wasn’t always a fan of cats, but when his daughter, Vivian, asked to adopt one, he couldn’t say no.

By 2023, the family had welcomed two cats into their home and now, Brady appears to be enamored with them.

In the post on his Instagram Story, Brady added three heart emojis to the selfie before sharing it to his 15.5 million Instagram followers.

His Instagram Story on Wednesday also included a graphic of a quote about appreciating “real” people, so it’s safe to say he wasn’t writing a love letter to his feline friend.

“I love when people are real. No pretending, no hiding, just honest vibes. I like when someone shows up as their true self, the same way I do,” he said.

“It feels good when we don’t have to wear masks, just open talk, genuine energy, and no fear of being who we really are,” the quote read.

Pets on the rise in the U.S

The NFL star’s new role as a cat dad reflects a broader trend in the U.S., where pet ownership continues to grow. Lifestyle, living space, and personal preferences often shape whether people adopt cats or dogs.

According to the American Pet Products Association 2025-2026 survey, there are roughly 95.6 million pet cats and 89.7 million pet dogs in U.S. households, showing that cats slightly outnumber dogs nationally.

Despite cats being more numerous overall, more households own dogs than cats: about 69 million homes have dogs, while roughly 50 million have cats, showing cats often live in larger groups per household.

Dogs tend to be more social and active companions, requiring walks, training, and outdoor play, which appeals to families with children or people with an active lifestyle and ample space.

Cats are generally more independent, low-maintenance, and suited to apartment living, making them ideal for busy professionals, urban dwellers, or older adults seeking companionship without high activity needs.

Spending habits differ between dog and cat owners, with dog owners spending more on vet care, food, grooming, and accessories, while cat owners focus more on litter, toys, and essentials, reflecting differing priorities.

Culturally, dogs dominate sports mascots, movies, and social media, whereas cats have carved a niche online with viral stars such as Grumpy Cat and Lil Bub, highlighting the distinct roles both play in popular culture.

Brady ramps up beef with Logan Paul

The most unexpected sports feud is heating up as Tom Brady continues his verbal attack on Logan Paul, straight-up labeling the WWE star a ‘b**ch,’ showing he’s far from done.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion is clearly irked by Paul‘s claims that he could ‘hang with the big dogs’ of the NFL, and Brady‘s trash talk reflects his competitive edge even off the field.

The feud originally ignited during Super Bowl week when Brady dismissed Paul‘s athletic credentials as ‘cute,’ suggesting the influencer and wrestler was completely out of his depth in football.

Despite a month passing since the initial exchange, Brady proved he hasn’t moved on, unloading more smack talk alongside longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski during a recent interview.

The rivalry is intensifying ahead of the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia on March 21, where Brady is reportedly captaining a team called the ‘Founders’ and has warned his squad to be ‘locked in’ and ready to ‘dominate.’

One can only hope he has someone to look after the cat while he is away from home.
