Scaloni does not dare to say it will be Messi’s last World Cup but he is clear about his new goal

Scaloni appeared before the media in a press conference ahead of Argentina-Zambia. The Argentine coach assessed the current state of the team and the management of minutes he foresees for the friendly match. But the Albiceleste coach left a ‘curious’ reflection on what could be Leo Messi’s last World Cup.

“The important thing is that he has already won the World Cup. It is important that he comes and enjoys it, if he finally decides to come. The important thing is that he enjoys being in a World Cup, which theoretically is the last one, although I do not dare to say that word,” said Scaloni

“There is no other word, the important thing is that he enjoys it and I will continue to repeat it. When you stop playing, all those things disappear, especially a World Cup. I only played in one and I still remember it. Imagine, it is unforgettable,” continued the Argentina coach.

“All I can say to him is to enjoy it, to be with his teammates, to take it as it is. Of course, we already know that he is competitive, there is no doubt about that, but he should enjoy it because he has earned the right to decide and see how things go, without that pressure of having to win it,” said the Argentine national team coach

“I said before that he didn’t have to win it and now that he has, all the more reason: let him go and enjoy it. I said before that he didn’t have to win it, and now that he has, all the more reason: let him go and enjoy it. Because not only us, the Argentines, want to see him, everyone wants to see him train and play. That’s what everyone expects,” concluded Scaloni.
