The 2025 Ryder Cup will be played from September 26 to 28, 2025, at the historic Bethpage Black Course on Long Island, New York. Ryder Cup Scoring
Each of the 28 matches scheduled is worth one point. Matches tied after 18 holes result in each team earning half a point. The first team to reach 14.5 points secures the Ryder Cup. If the competition ends in a 14-14 draw, the team holding the trophy – in this case, Europe – retains it.
Friday and saturday format
Foursomes (Friday and Saturday morning)
In this format, two teammates play a single ball alternately, with one player teeing off on odd holes and the other on even holes. The team that completes the hole in fewer strokes wins it.
Fourball (Friday and Saturday afternoon)
In Fourball, each golfer plays their own ball, and the best score on each hole counts for the team. The lowest combined score wins the hole.
Sunday format: Singles
On the final day, all 12 players from each team compete in head-to-head singles matches. Each match carries one point, making Sunday a decisive day in determining the winner of the Ryder Cup.
