Los Angeles Dodgers’ new star Roki Sasaki has given plenty of material to talk about ahead of his first season in MLB. His performance on the mound has generated great expectations. However, just as he has attracted attention in the sport, he has now also made headlines off the field.
Apparently, Roki Sasaki married a simple woman. This is part of the text he published on Instagram. If true, for the second consecutive season, a Los Angeles Dodgers player announced without warning that he had married as happened last year with Shohei Ohtani.
Nobody even knew he was dating anyone, so his marriage was a big surprise both inside and outside the Dodgers’ offices. The text reads:“Thank you for your continued support. The other day, I registered my marriage with an ordinary woman. I am filled with expectations and anxiety, as it is a new beginning for both my work and private life. My wife and I will work together and do our best, so we hope you will take good care of us”.
The image is of two Los Angeles Dodgers caps, which begs the question: did he really get married? Or perhaps celebrities occasionally like to generate jokes on social media and just want to stir up the digital world, so it would not be strange if his message is directed towards the Dodgers.

The team’s manager, Dave Roberts, was asked about the situation and replied that he didn’t even know he had a girlfriend, when asked what he had given Sasaki and his wife as a wedding gift. “Well, congratulations… The wedding gift will be on its way after I meet his wife,” he said
Sasaki joined the Los Angeles Dodgers on a minor league contract worth $6.5 million, one of the biggest bargains in the sport considering his immense talent.
He is also expected to be the starter in the season-opening series against the Chicago Cubs in Japan in March. Presumably with his new wife watching.
