The international break in March has claimed a major victim for Barcelona. Hansi Flick loses Raphinha for the upcoming matches in which Barcelona will play for the two titles they still have to win. Tests carried out on the player have confirmed that he is suffering from an injury and he is leaving the national team camp.

The striker had to leave the friendly match between Brazil and France due to injury. “Raphinha played very well, then he had a problem at the end of the first half and we had to change him, he was a little bit bothered by the muscle,” said Ancelotti, who added that they were waiting for further tests.

These tests have shown that it was not just a nuisance but that there was a significant muscle injury. Specifically in the back of the right thigh, according to the statement issued by the CBF. Although the length of absence is not specified, CBF sources told MARCA that the period could be one month. That would mean he would miss the Champions League quarter-final tie against Atletico.

The CBF statement read: “Raphinha and Wesley were ruled out on Friday by coach Carlo Ancelotti. Both felt discomfort in the back of the right thigh during the match against France. On Friday, the players underwent imaging tests that confirmed muscle injuries. The players have been discharged to continue treatment. No other players will be called up to replace them.”
