Simona Halep, a two-time Grand Slam champion, has announced her retirement from professional tennis, bringing an end to a remarkable career that has left an indelible mark on the sport. Halep, who won the French Open in 2018 and Wimbledon in 2019, shared her decision following her first-round loss at the Transylvania Open in Cluj, Romania.
