Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne reveal what they hope to do together when baseball is not the priority

When the MLB calendar goes on pause and baseball is no longer the absolute priority, Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne slow down and spend quality time together. The Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher and the former gymnast and model share how they spend the offseason

Paul Skenes and how he disconnects in the offseason

At 23 years old, Paul Skenes already knows what it means to dominate in Major League Baseball. After a historic 2025 campaign, the right-hander understands that rest is also part of high performance. During the MLB offseason, his routine combines morning workouts with activities that allow him to slow down and enjoy his free time with his partner, ‘Livvy’ Dunne.

“Honestly, that’s how I take it easy. Train in the morning and then go out on the boat in the afternoon. It’s a good way to spend the day,” Skenes explained in an exclusive interview with People magazine. For him, contact with the water and outdoor life in Florida has become an ideal balance between physical preparation and mental well-being.

Olivia Dunne, the key ally for Skenes off the diamond

Olivia Dunne has been a constant presence in Skenes‘ life. Although distance sometimes separates them, with him in California and her in New York, both stress the importance of sharing moments when baseball is not at the center of everything.

“I’m a fish!”, joked Dunne when talking about her favorite activities, making it clear that she enjoys spending time in the water as much or more than her partner. Skenes did not hesitate to admit it: “She likes fishing more than I do”. These are the kind of details that have made them one of the most followed sports couples of the moment.

Since Dunne acquired a home in South Florida, the region has become a regular meeting place. Boating, Intracoastal tours and relaxed afternoons are part of their shared routine, away from the pressure of the sporting spotlight.

A Cy Young that changed everything for Paul Skenes

The 2025 season was an unforgettable year for Paul Skenes. The National League Cy Young Award and Rookie of the Year winner established himself as one of the most dominant figures in baseball today. Even so, he remains grounded.

“It’s a huge honor. It’s the most important recognition for a pitcher in the Major Leagues,” he said. Dunne, for her part, highlighted the daily effort behind these achievements: “Everything he gets is well deserved. I see the work he does every day,” said ‘Livvy‘.

For Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne, the offseason is not just a pause, but an opportunity to reconnect, enjoy the simple things and recharge for the upcoming season, possibly rehearsing what their future might be once baseball is over for the young star.
