It isn’t easy being the president of a high-profile sports organization. It isn’t easy being the CEO of a major boxing promotions company. In reality, Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya have a lot in common. Perhaps that’s why they don’t like each other at all.
Both of them have rubbed plenty of people the wrong way on their way to the top. But it’s been De La Hoya who has really stoked the flames in recent years, taking aim at any and everyone, with White being a popular verbal punching bag for The Golden Boy. This week, De La Hoya got plenty of ammo to start firing big shots back at White.
Dana White’s UFC under FBI investigation for suspicious betting activities
The UFC, and White, are currently in talks with the FBI due to suspicious betting activity that took place during a recent MMA match. White himself contacted the FBI first, so there shouldn’t be any skepticism regarding that particular fight. But it has begged the question about other UFC fights, both past and present.
De La Hoya has used the recent news surrounding the UFC to hit out at White. White has partnered up with Turki Alalshikh to get into the boxing scene, and he wants to revolutionize the sport with a UFC-style format. De La Hoya hates the idea, and is using this FBI situation as a way to keep White out of boxing.
Is anybody really surprised? I’ve been trying to tell you guys these TKO guys are scumbags, and now they’re trying to change the Muhammad Ali Act to f**k boxers over. Get the f**k out of our sport. Everything you touch turns to absolute s**t. And now you have the FBI crawling up your ass, good f**kin’ luck.
White will have to let the FBI investigation play out, but it seems that he’s fully cooperating. That doesn’t mean he will come out unscathed. De La Hoya is hoping for much worse things, it seems.
