Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk confirmed that he will put his heavyweight belts on the line against Britain’s Daniel Dubois in July, and ahead of his next fight he was interviewed by Piers Morgan, where he took the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to United States President Donald Trump about the war.

The undisputed world heavyweight champion asked Donald Trump to stop the war in Ukraine: “What Russia is doing, everyone knows it’s bullshit.”

The full interview with Usyk on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ will be broadcast in full later this week on the show’s YouTube channel. In the meantime, the Ukrainian champion described as “nonsense” any peace deal in which Ukraine is forced to cede territory to Russia and bluntly asked for Trump’s help.

“President Trump, please open your eyes,” Usyk said in the interview with Piers Morgan, in a strong message to Trump for the United States to end the three-year war.

Usyk defends peace in Ukraine without ceding territory to Russia

After reiterating his request to Trump for the United States to intervene to stop the war in Ukraine, he was questioned by Morgan whether they would give territory to Russia.

“No, of course not, this is my territory, the territory of my country, it is my people,” was Usyk‘s blunt response

Peace negotiations will not be easy, as Russia is not interested in accepting to cede to Ukraine the territory it has already conquered in the war.
